The Alpine Trail Co. Chase Light Housing is a direct OEM replacement for the factory third brake light on 2003-2009 Toyota 4Runners equipped with the rear spoiler (Sport Edition standard, optional on SR5 and Limited). The 3D-printed ASA housing mounts to the same factory metal backing plate as the stock unit using the included longer bolts — no cutting, no drilling, no permanent modifications.
Four perfect-fit light mounts designed straight into the housing, with optimized wire routing to prevent pinched wires during install — turning your spoiler into a clean, integrated rear lighting array for camp, recovery, or trail visibility.
⚠️ Lights are NOT included. This listing is for the housing only. Four (4) Baja Designs rock lights are required and sold separately, direct from Baja Designs or your preferred retailer.
What's included:

(8) M4 heat-set threaded inserts pre-installed (2 per light mount)
Mounting bolts (longer than OEM to accommodate the housing depth)

How the lights mount:
Baja Designs rock lights bolt directly into the housing using the pre-installed M4 heat-set brass inserts. No glue, no zip ties, no improvised mounting — secure threaded fastening for every light. Hardware to bolt the lights into the housing is included with your Baja Designs rock lights.

Installation:

Remove the factory third brake light from the OEM metal backing plate
The factory third brake light is no longer operable once removed and is replaced entirely by this housing
Bolt rock lights into housing using pre-installed M4 heat-set inserts
Mount housing to the OEM metal backing plate using included longer bolts
Splice the red rock light into the OEM third brake light wiring (factory connector); wire remaining lights to your preferred switched circuit

⚠️ IMPORTANT — READ BEFORE PURCHASE
Brake light requirement: This housing replaces your factory third brake light (CHMSL), which is removed and no longer functional. To remain street legal, a minimum of one (1) RED Baja Designs rock light must be installed in the housing and spliced into the OEM third brake light wiring to function as your center high-mount stop lamp. Lighting laws vary by state — it is the buyer's responsibility to verify compliance with your state and local vehicle code before installation and street use.
Do not impersonate law enforcement. Combining red and blue rock lights in this housing — or any configuration that could be mistaken for emergency vehicle lighting — is illegal in every U.S. state and carries serious criminal penalties. Never run red and blue rock lights together in this product. Alpine Trail Co. assumes no liability for misuse.
Off-road auxiliary lighting (amber, white, etc.) installed in the remaining pockets must comply with your state's laws regarding auxiliary lighting use on public roads. Many states require off-road-only lights to be covered or disabled when operating on public roadways.
